Understanding How Change
Occurs
Participants examine
self-awareness and how we react to change. The following
topics are discussed:
-
Values: Participants will examine
the impact and power of our personal values and beliefs in
how we interpret and react to others, and how they react to
us. The ability of understanding and responding to the
concept that everyone has differing values, clearly defines
leaders from others.
-
Mentoring: Participants will examine
past experiences with mentors and the impact they have on
who participants are now in reference to leadership skills
and ability to embrace change.
-
Mental Models: Participants
will examine how deeply held internal images, assumptions,
and myths we develop from our experiences about how the
world works, are actually simple generalizations that give
us false or incomplete information in reference to many
situations we experience.
-
Feedback and Self-Disclosure:
Through the use of the Johari Window model, participants
will learn more about themselves by receiving feedback, and
the importance of self-disclosure in assisting others in
heightening their awareness and making change.
